I was awarded Indian Academy of Sciences summer research fellowship 2013 for doing this project.
There was a two-fold objective-
1). Analytical deriation of mean-square deviation for 1D random walkers in presence of different kinds of obstacles and subsequent verification via simulations.
2). To observe diffusive motion in a particle evolving deterministically on a 2D periodic potential. We discovered that the a 2D periodic potential made up Repulsive Lennard Jones potential renders diffusivity to the particle. The figure above, depicts one such trajectory, where the lattice points are the singularities.
